With the launch of the 4th edition of its secure data storage and sharing package for individuals, Fnac cements its technological partnership with Oodrive.
Oodrive is always listening to its partners, and continually innovates in order to ensure it is offering the best solution for their needs and those of their customers. Thanks to Oodrive technology, the 2010 version of Pack Fnac now offers a larger, more fun and more user-friendly secure sharing and storage space.
Oodrive rises to the challenge for Fnac for 4th year running
Fnac wanted to update its "Pack Essentiel" basic PC protection package in order to offer a better solution to its customers' needs.
Fnac asked Oodrive and BitDefender, its two technological partners for the past 4 years, to develop major improvements to the "Security" and "Storage space and file sharing" components of its package.
Oodrive drew on its technological expertise to develop new features and optimise the storage and sharing space offered to individual users in Fnac's PC protection package.
The result is a totally revamped web 2.0 interface, with a new tree structure for simpler and more intuitive use by individual users. The home screen presents all the product features, and offers Help tips on the main page.
With the new storage and sharing space developed for Fnac by Oodrive, users can now store up to 25GB, and can also update and organise their pictures in albums using a simple internet browser. Thanks to Oodrive, the individual user can now view their files from anywhere as thumbnails or slide shows.
Multimedia, video and music files can be organised as a playlist and viewed online using a simple Web browser or from their mobile phone (compatible with the iPhone and Windows Mobile).
Oodrive has also developed functionalities for "sharing" the space.
Until now, individuals had been able to share picture, video and music files to selected recipients by sending a link.
Oodrive technology now also makes it possible for users to centralise online activities between different social networks, including Flickr, Picasa, Gmail, Yahoo, MSN Hotmail, and to manage contacts in these online communities. From the sharing space, the individual user can now access their different online accounts and add, retrieve and move any content they wish.
Oodrive has increased the number of sharing modes for greater ease of use: picture albums, for example, can be shared with a small groups of users at just the click of a button, or as an open website or widget.
Oodrive now also offers innovative backup, having designed a module that enables users to synchronise data from a personal computer with data in the storage space. Data is automatically synchronised as often as the user chooses, thanks to a fully automated, quick and intuitive process, protecting the user from any data loss linked to a sudden pause in the system.
What's more, individual users benefit from 25GB storage capacity! This means they can store all their content online, whether that's 6,500 songs, 12,500 pictures, or even 50,000 documents, with total security.
Oodrive has made this service compatible with all Windows operating systems, all web browsers, and all existing connection types, via a Proxy server, so that customers do not have to be bogged down with technical aspects.
